And oddly, that didn't bump you to the top of the page. They're still working the kinks out, I guess.

Am I right in thinking that every literature has a different shape abroad? That other countries have canons of American literature, for example, that look rather different from what we know? The stock example, I believe, is the (erstwhile? mythical?) prominence of Poe for the French. But I think I've also heard that Faulkner has mattered specially in Latin America. And on a lesser scale, Bukowski is a bigger deal in Germany and Italy than here.
