This is the review, by the way, that inspired me to say, "why don't we just review ourselves."
Maybe it should be good as a self-critique exercise. Try to step out for a bit and see how everything looks from outside. But as criticism, critical reviewing to be taken seriously, I would not trust any artist/poet/whatever evaluating their own work. There is not enough distance. One needs to see the whole forest first in order to focus closely on the details of every tree.
I thought you were ironic when you said "After all, who knows more about my work than me? (Especially its weaknesses.)".
Ironic? Moi? That part is true. I can see my weaknesses pretty clearly. (Maybe that makes me a bad advertiser or promoter of my self.) Of course a self-critique is about as far from objectivity as possible. On the other hand I don't know what a disinterested, unbiased reading looks like any more. Critical writing is valuable in part because of its biases and hidden agendas.
