As I was taking a walk today I imagined my footsteps were quarter notes. Then I counted off 8 measures while looking at my watch: about 15 seconds. So the tempo was 128. In other words, a relaxed swing.

Vance Maverick dijo...: In my daughter's Dalcroze class, quarters are "walk", half-notes "slow walk", eighth-notes "running", and dotted eighths "skipping".

On the other hand, in music-Italian, andante (going/walking) is slowish. Conclusions about cis- and transalpine pace left to the reader.; 1:31 a. m.
