The last time I gave a seminar at the Hall Center for the Humanities it became a [soon-to-be] best selling book published by the University of Chicago Press. So you you won't want to miss this one. You can download the paper. The top secret password is "philandlit."

I'll try to come your seminar at the Hall Center. Your new book on the avant garde also looks interesting.

Terrific, highly stimulating essay. Thanks -- I'd love to see it turn into a book!

Don't know if you'd be interested, but I wrote (very briefly) on the erotics of consonants a few years ago. Should have connected it to the Barthes (which I had read, more than once, as I had the Lorca too), but didn't consciously think of it.

Couldn't agree more that duende is un-transferable into English. Thank you! I'm not even sure that it's transferable out of cante at all, but as some cante practitioners appeared to want to apply it to Bach, I'm really in no position to object.

Thanks again.

Thanks for reading it and for the comments. I'd love to see your take on the erotics of consonants. I'll take a look at it.
