*Ted Berrigan. A Certain Slant of Sunlight. 1988. No page numbers.
This is Berrigan's postcard book, written in the last year of his life. He either scores a complete hit or misses completely. You and I might not agree about which poems are hits and which are misses, but I see a clear dichotomy.
My teacher Ken Mikolowski published those postcards originally in his "journal," which consisted of an envelope full of postcards, bookmarks with poems on them, and broadsheets. It was a beautiful periodical, and because of those handmade postcards, no two were identical. I like that Berrigan book; find most of them to be hits.
