"The very existence of poetry should make us laugh. What is it all about? What is it for?"

diferentes partes del relato, separadas por blancos, se proponen como piezas permutables.”

Lisa Jarnot. Black Dog Songs.
The poem "Lisa Jarnot" is brilliant. I've realized one of the benefits of reading 9000 books is that I will read (at least) 9000 brilliant poems.
I never claimed that every book would have a brilliant poem in it. Some might have zero, it is true, but others might have ten or twenty. If I don't just read random books, but for the most part those that I think will have something valuable in them, then the number of brilliant poems should be at least as high as the number of books read. All I need for that is about one in fifty poems to be brilliant.

Your claim, my good man, is patently false. Add Jack London to your roster of 9,000 and you'll find naught but this.
