Max Roach has passed away at age 83. I really feel that this is a loss of one of the last connections to the bebop pioneers. Of major figures, only Roy Haynes survives.
One of the all-time all-times. It feels as though the walls of the world have closed in a little.

ResponderEliminarRollins I was considering to be of the next cohort after the beboppers. Maybe that's splitting hairs since he was on some notable Bud Powell sides.
