I love submission guidelines for journals that say: "Do not mix genres in the same envelope."
Well, sometimes the poetry people and the fiction people or nonfiction people are not in the same place. Stuff gets lost and mixed up then. Sorry. Just being practical.

ResponderEliminarYou have to be careful, becasue the prose might hump the poetry, produce some genre-mongrels. Horrors!

ResponderEliminarI understand the reason for it, just saying the phrase strikes me "funny." I don't write ficiton but often try to put several genres in the same poem.
